An amazing evening celebrating leadership in rural, regional and remote Australia

24 October 2018

We would like to thank all our sponsors, alumni, partner organisations and supporters for attending the ARLF Gala Dinner in Canberra on Thursday 18 October.

It was a memorable night filled with of fun, frivolity, networking and an opportunity to celebrate Australian rural, regional and remote leadership.

Thank you to our amazing co-hosts for the evening – Hannah Wandel, CEO Country to Canberra and Leigh Radford, Rural journalist and ARLF Honorary Fellow. Without their energy, the night wouldn’t have been the success it was.

Highlights of the evening

  • The Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon Michael McCormack MP opening the night at the pre-dinner drinks event
  • The Hon David Littleproud MP, Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources speaking at the dinner
  • Brianna Casey, CEO of Foodbank and ARLF Fellow Course 10 providing insights into the impact the Australian Rural Leadership Program (ARLP) had on her
  • ARLP Course 24, celebrating their completion of the program by presenting reflections and sharing one of their initiatives called Walk with us, Talk with us – highlighting mental wellness and community connectivity
  • The panel discussion with our event sponsors – Elders, Telstra, Torres Strait Regional Authority and Prime Super.

It was a truly special evening and we appreciate the attendance of our alumni, with some traveling from far rural, regional and remote Australia to be part of the event.
