Australian Rural Leadership Program Program updates

ARLP 29 update

8 November 2021

By Gemma Gordon, Manager Networks

We are now well into our recruitment for Course 29 of the Australian Rural Leadership Program. This year we received over 100 applications, which we consider a very strong level of interest given the context we are working within.

We also received applications from every state and territory with alumni still being our strongest advocates in connecting rural leaders with the program through recommendations and shoulder tapping.

A statistic that continues to intrigue us is that again, most applications are from women. This continues a trend we are seeing across most programs, over a number of years now. If you have any insight into the drivers of this trend, please get in touch!

We are still seeking applications for a few scholarships. If you know a leader working in the Victoria dairy or fishing industries, or a Torres Strait Islander leader, please contact Gemma Gordon.

We were also overwhelmed this year by the response of alumni to contribute their time and experience to participate in the interview panels. Chaired by alumni and ARLP Associate, Liz Brennan, the interviews will involve 43 alumni over 5 weeks of interviews with all available spots being booked out within 24 hours!

The program begins in July next year. Expressions of interest for Course 30 are also being submitted here.
