Key messages about the program

Applications are now open for 2022 Milparanga Leadership Programs including programs for Emerging Leaders and Established Leaders.

The Milparanga Emerging Leadership Program and Milparanga Established Leadership Programs are specifically designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 21 years and over who live or work in rural and remote Australia and would like to develop their leadership skills to benefit their communities.

There are 23 scholarships available for each program.

Graduates will join a support network of over 350 Indigenous ARLF alumni and will qualify for entry into the Milparanga Mentoring Program as a mentor or mentee.

The program is a unique opportunity to connect with other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a culturally safe space and engage in conversations and projects that explore collaboration and develop leadership knowledge and skills.

Milparanga Program Manager Grant Cameron explains why people should get involved: ‘As a graduate of this program, I know firsthand the value of participating in this culturally safe program, facilitated by Indigenous educators that explores individual leadership capability and also the power of having a network across the country to call on and support you into the future’.

This program is a partnership with the National Indigenous Australians Agency
