I will be working towards preparation of monthly financial reports, assisting in budgeting & forecasting, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures in our financial operations and proactively look for process improvement initiatives to add value in financial administration and reporting.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, travelling to new places, listening to music and playing soccer.
Where does your passion for rural, regional and remote Australia come from?
As a city dweller all my life, I have a very little experience of rural life. Few years ago, when I went back to Nepal to visit family, I went on a trek to visit rural parts of the country in the Himalayan region and was immediately attracted towards the regional and remote communities and their life-style. I also learnt a lot about the struggles they face for even a basic needs like clean drinking water, education and health facilities. That was my awakening of how important it is to support the regional and rural communities for an overall development of any country, which developed my passion towards rural and regional communities. Being a part of ARLF, I will be able to know more, experience and contribute to regional, remote and rural Australia.
What’s your favourite memory or most memorable moment of rural, regional and remote Australia?
I have a very limited experience of rural and remote Australia which I got when I went to Bathurst for my University graduation. I spent a couple of days in Bathurst and the surrounding areas of Orange & Hill End. I’m very excited and looking forward for the opportunity to learn more and experience the remote, regional and rural parts of the country that I now call home.
What’s your professional background?
I have worked in Finance & accounting sector for over 8 years across wide range of industries which include hospitality, not-for profit, public sector and construction.
