A new cohort of agribusiness leaders are set graduate as part of the 2024 Australian Agribusiness Leadership Program later this month.
The group includes a diverse range of professional backgrounds and expertise in livestock and food supply chains, manufacturing & processing, banking, telecommunications, research and development, agri-food production, policy/engagement and merchandising. Following their graduation ceremony, the cohort will become part of the broader Australian Rural Leadership Foundation‘s alumni network, joining over 2600 other leaders from rural, regional and remote communities and industries.
The Australian Agribusiness Leadership Program (AALP) is a bespoke development program for agribusiness leaders, committed to their sector and to increasing their impact in the businesses and communities in which they live and work. Over four months, participants engage in a range of unique and experiential learning opportunities over two sessions, both in and around Canberra and Orange.
Thanks to the generous support of sponsors, 26 scholarships each valued at $14,850 have been awarded, allowing participants to undertake program.
CEO of LiveCorp Wayne Collier was a participant in the 2023 program and believes the AALP encourages leaders to adopt a more reflective and adaptive leadership style.
“One of the important things from the AALP is the benefit of being taken out of the noise of your day-to-day to more objectively look at what you’re learning. It helps to be exposed to different profiles and personalities and apply an intentionality to leadership.”
“It allowed me to take a more adaptive approach. I tend to think more now about what I need to bring to a situation and what my team needs from me. It’s a useful thing in communicating with people about differences.”
