Paul Ryan is passionate about social and environmental change. He collaborates with individuals and organisations across various sectors and disciplines to prepare for and create a future that is fair, just, and sustainable.
Paul is a global leader in resilience, adaptation, and transformation practices. He is the founding Director of the Australian Resilience Centre, an enterprise focused on bringing resilience, adaptation, and transformation thinking and practice to real-world problems.
Paul works with people, organisations, and agencies to apply these principles across a range of scales in areas as diverse as poverty and humanitarian relief, climate adaptation planning and practice, disaster preparedness and recovery, sustainable agriculture, water and irrigation futures, community development, sustainable regional development, infrastructure, biodiversity, illegal wildlife trade, domestic violence, gender, cultural and youth issues.
Paul is a skilled facilitator and has facilitated over 800 workshops and capacity-building days in Australia and internationally. Paul has previously worked for the Stockholm Resilience Centre, the Resilience Alliance, CSIRO, state government agencies, and catchment management organisations.
