The monthly column from our Alumni Engagement Manager.
The ARLF team and I had the pleasure of meeting up with our Cairns-based alumni in late July. In conjunction with our retreat in sunny North Queensland ten local alumni joined us for dinner. There was a buzz about the restaurant that night. A big thanks to all who took the time to join us – a few travelling some distance to join us. It provided an opportunity for some of our newer staff members to meet with those who have undertaken our programs and get a better understanding of their impact. It also spurred local interest within alumni to continue to connect as a group.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to fill out the alumni survey. We are so thrilled with the number of respondents, and the answers provided will help form the basis of our 30-year impact report due for release later in the year. And – a big congratulations to our speedy responders from ARLP cohort 26, who scored a ticket to the 30-year gala dinner for being the first eight from one cohort to respond to the survey. Cheeky, I know – but we needed a little incentive to help get those survey responses up.
Speaking of the gala – tickets are now on sale. Take advantage of our early bird ticket sale before 31 August. It’s a fabulous opportunity for you to celebrate with us and reconnect with your cohort.
And while you’re in Canberra for the gala – you could join our REVIVE program. A special program offering in our 30th year, REVIVE will allow you to reconnect, take stock, and draw on your own wisdom and that of others through reflection and immersive activity. This 3.5-day program will run in Canberra from 27 October to 30 October and will be hosted by our associates Karim Haddad and Ali Wass. The program cost is $2400. We need minimum numbers for the program to proceed and so if you’re keen, you’ll need to register your interest by Friday 26 August. If you have any queries, please email me.
And finally – keep the calls coming! I love taking calls from alumni wanting to reach out to connect with someone from their cohort, or their cohort more broadly, someone from a particular industry/ profession or someone within their local community, or just wanting connections to help open a door. That’s the network in action, and I am here to help you connect the dots. So don’t be a stranger; if you think diving into the network could help you somehow, you only need to reach out.
