Leadership development forum heads to NSW/VIC Border

The Regional Australia Institute (RAI) and the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ALRF) invite
regional leaders to its next Future Forum to be held in Albury – aimed at strengthening the region’s
network of local leaders and delivering up to date data on their local towns.

The upcoming Future Forum – Rivers to the Plains, part of the Leading Australian Resilient
Communities (LARC) program will be held at the Commercial Club in Albury on Tuesday 30 August.
ARLF CEO Matt Linnegar says the program recognises that true resilience is not merely about
‘coping’ or ‘surviving’, but about change, readiness and opportunity.

“The Rivers to the Plains community are no strangers to innovation when new opportunities come
along. This program is about investing in those who know their communities best,” Matt Linnegar
said.

The one-day forum is a free event with guest speakers RAI CEO Liz Ritchie, the Australian Resilience
Centre’s Paul Ryan and the ALRF Manager of Learning Andrew Bryant.

Latest RAI economic and social data specific to the Rivers to the Plains region (includes LGAs of
Wagga Wagga, Greater Hume Shire, Lockhart, Federation, Murrumbidgee, Berrigan, Albury,
Wodonga, Moira, Indigo, Wangaratta, Benalla, Greater Shepparton and Strathbogie) will be shared.

RAI CEO Liz Ritchie says that this is an opportunity for like-minded community members to come
together for focused and deep conversations.

“This is an opportunity for people living and working in the Rivers to the Plains district, who are
passionate about their community, to work collaboratively to build a positive future for their
region,” Liz Ritchie said.

“The forum will focus on building strong local networks, combining resources and sharing
knowledge,” Liz Ritchie said.

Future Forum attendees will be able to find out more about the LARC five-day leadership
experience, with 26 scholarships on offer in the Rivers to the Plains region.
