Gourav Mittal

As a Support Coordinator, I am responsible for providing IT support to the internal stakeholders of Australian Rural Leadership Foundation. Streamlining business processes and implementing new business systems and processes is also part of my job.

In my free time, I love to cook and am a big foodie. That means I also put on weight easily. So to balance my calorie intake, my other hobbies involve burning up the extra calories so that I can keep eating delicious foods without affecting my health. This might be going to the gym or running, but my all-time favourite is bushwalking.

Where does your passion for rural, regional and remote Australia come from?

Growing up in a small village in the north of India, I always felt that it is really important to support the regional development of any region or country for the overall development and to improve the lifestyle of regional people. Since moving to Australia and exploring different regions, cultures, and communities, my desire to contribute to society got stronger.

What’s your professional background?

Before joining the ARFL, I worked with an IT company as a business analyst. As a business analyst, I was responsible for planning, designing and implementing the business process for the organisation.
I think my previous experience with business processes and knowledge of systems will help me to perform at the highest standard at the ARLF.

Three things you love about working at the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation?

I really loved the work environment here. Everyone is very supportive and professional at the same time, and it really is a fun place to work at. ARLF really care about their people and the rural communities they work for. Working at ARLF has a great feeling of working for society and contributing something good to the development of rural Australia.
