With more leadership programs on the horizon, our team is growing faster than ever. Join us as we introduce our newest and established team members. This time, Kas Al-Shehari. Apart from supporting our growing team as an experienced finance and HR professional, Kas brings perspectives from growing up in a country where leadership programs are far from reach for most.
Kas joined us in April 2022 in the newly created role of Finance and Human Resources Manager.
As a young man, Kas thought about working in healthcare. But today, he brings his passion for helping others into his work in human resources. Having worked in finance and human resources in Malaysia’s IT industry for 8 years, he brings a wealth of experience to support and guide our growing team.

Prior to joining us, Kas has only lived in Australia for four short months. Despite having built his life in Kuala Lumpur, the pandemic ultimately contributed to his decision to relocate and build a life in Australia. He leaves behind a social circle and much-loved hiking trails around Kuala Lumpur.
Being new to not just the job but also the country, it’s important for Kas to work with a team that understands the experience of being out of one’s comfort zone. He says that adapting to the lifestyle, Aussie culture and Canberra’s cool weather is a work in progress. We have no doubt that his social nature and love for the outdoors and hiking will see him explore the region’s great hiking trails in no time.
It’s important to note that we also appreciate Kas’ background and life experience. Being born in Yemen, Kas brings us perspectives from a country that lacks the most basic resources for most of its population. It reminds us that the opportunities we provide are not comparable and far from reach for people in other places. If the opportunity arises, Kas hopes to support his home country with his experiences one day. For now, he has already looked at ways to support volunteer organisations in Canberra.
Importantly, Kas reminds us to think about achieving diversity and inclusion of Australia’s multicultural society.
