As part of the Learning Team, we design and deliver leadership development programs and other learning opportunities to contribute to thriving people and communities across regional, rural and remote Australia.
I am inspired to influence and empower leaders, through challenging people to grow and develop themselves, their business and community.
The ARLF approach to learning through facilitating experiential, immersive and challenge-based programs continually motivates me to support and empower participants in new and intentional ways.
Where does your passion for rural, regional and remote Australia come from?
I’ve been fortunate to be involved in leadership development programs from a young age when I started mentoring youth groups. With a natural curiosity and a reputation for asking ‘why?’, this has been a natural evolution.
My passion for agriculture excelled when I attended a school with an ag program and I became heavily involved in ag shows, this developed into further study and a fulfilling career supporting people in growing agriculture, then to grow themselves and grow their business.
What’s your favourite memory or most memorable moment in rural, regional and remote Australia?
Some of my favourite times are being on the road somewhere in this great land of ours, driving as the sun comes up and starts to paint the landscape with colours. Or standing on a hill, looking out across the vista toward the horizon. There is nothing greater the fresh feeling of a new day and the adventures that await as the sky fills with colour and the sun starts to stream its long shadow on the ground, while feeling the first warm rays on my face. It doesn’t matter where I am, there is always curiosity and awe in the adventure and road ahead. This inspiration comes from the people and places that I continue to meet and greet along the way.
What’s your professional background?
My background has been mostly in agribusiness and rural community development, engagement and training.
Some of my previous roles have included, Agricultural Development and Engagement Manager at the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria Industry Leadership Manager at Sheep Producers Australia, creating the SPA Leadersheep Network and leadership programs developing strong leadership for the sheep industry.
I have enjoyed delivered activities to producers, supply chains and rural communities across Victoria, NSW and beyond, managed development projects in NFPs, community, industry and government
What do you get up to when you’re not at work? What’s your favourite past time?
Outside of work, you’ll find me on outdoor adventures and in nature – bushwalking, camping and riding, or between the tomato plants or picking apples in my backyard – love home grown fruit and veggies.
