Regenerate Eurobodalla is a fully-funded leadership development program building community, business and government leadership capacity for resilience and sustainability.

Regenerate Eurobodalla is a leadership development program in response to the 2019-20 bushfire season. This intensive program engages participants in an 18-month learning journey that combines a blend of face-to-face workshops, action learning, online support, project delivery, coaching and mentoring. Designed for current and emerging leaders, it provides a deep dive into personal leadership, working in and leading teams, as well as skills and understanding to lead and build resilience in communities and organisations.

Regenerate Eurobodalla is a 9-day (over 4 sessions) recovery and resilience leadership development program for people living in the Eurobodalla Shire.  

Who should apply?

Numbers are limited to 24 people program to ensure this is a very personal, selective ‘hands-on’ learning experience! Are you someone who is:

  • Purposeful, filled with passion and empathy and wants to do something that will make a genuine difference within your team, community, organisation, sector or business
  • A change agent or social innovator wanting to engage more people in building new enterprises and public good projects?
  • A small business owner wanting to learn new leadership skills to increase the scale and reach of your business?
  • A current or emerging leader in local government policy and governance in the area of community development, environment, planning, land, and emergency response?
  • Leading an interest group with a stake in Eurobodalla?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, this program is for you.

We care a lot about what you’ve done and even more about what you want to do. We want to support and assist you in making productive change happen.

Ideally, we are seeking a diverse group of program participants that truly represents all segments of our community.


Regenerate Eurobodalla is a partnership between Southcoast Health and Sustainability Alliance (SHASA) the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) and the program facilitators Global Learning.

  • SHASA has been at the forefront in championing renewable energy, sustainability and community resilience projects across the Shire.
  • The ARLF is preeminent in the development and support for strong leaders in rural, regional and remote Australia.
  • Global Learning has been at the forefront of leadership development for more than 30 years and has worked extensively across corporate, government, community and not for profit organisations. They are now Eurobodalla based.

Frequently asked questions

You must attend all sessions in order to graduate from the program. Our programs are designed to build your awareness and experience throughout the sessions. Experiential learning is one of the most engaging and deep methods of learning. Wrapping up your learnings and reflection is crucial for a positive learning experience. If you don’t intend to commit, this program may not be right for you. Of course, we will do our best to make sure you don’t miss out should unforeseen circumstances stop you from attending. Residential programs are designed to create more time for networking and building social connections through evening activities. Also, being away from home and the habitual place of work, takes away distractions of everyday life. Thus, you can fully immerse yourself into the learning experience.

Aside from some travel and personal expenses to, from and during sessions, the program is free to attend thanks to our program partners.

The project has received grant funding from the Australian Government.

Regional leadership programs benefit not just individual participants. They also benefit the cohort and the entire community. 

At an individual level, you invest in yourself to develop the skills, a mindset and networks to understand and influence uncertainty and create vibrant communities for generations to come. You grow your networks within and outside of your community, by joining the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation’s national network. That is more than 1,700 people working for the greater good of their communities. 

The community will gain a group of courageous and influential people with the skills to gather support from within the community and their new network to put the plan into action.
